As we prepare for another successful school year, the question of school theme, school motto came up. Are we continuing the theme from last year or are we doing something different? My response without hesitation was….we ARE continuing our theme, our motto and our commitment from last year! There’s no need to change! And to be quite honest, we may continue this theme for a couple more years until it is ingrained into our school culture! Our theme of Together WE Will says so much in three words! Most importantly it sends a message to students and staff that YOU are not alone…Together WE Will get through the barriers, challenges and celebrate as a school community.

Throughout my life I’ve been blessed to know many truly good people. From my family, to my friends, to my mentors and educators alike, I’ve positioned myself to be surrounded by incredibly good people. People that care and want to see you at your best. These are people that will support, encourage and speak honestly with you and about you. These are people that will position themselves as” part of your village” to help you achieve your goals and/or vision.
As a school community, we are on a mission to embody that “village” like feeling of support for every student that enters our doors. We provide a safe, supportive, nurturing and academically driven environment that transforms lives (and perceptions). Our students, like many other students in school districts, have had traumatic experiences that have impacted their learning and will power to continue and persist. The way we have rooted the motto of, Together We Will into our daily conversations and actions, will change the mindset and trajectory of our students. In ways where…
Students feel supported and not judged.
Students and staff are able to form healthy relationships.
Students begin to believe in themselves and realize that they are cable of success.
Students start to understand that their past doesn’t define their future.
Students start creating their new narrative…their new story!
Transformation Begin.
Hopeless becomes hopeful!
Together WE Will builds community! Together WE Will is the difference that many students need. The power of a committed staff for the betterment of students can change the world! And Together at Clara B Ford Academy WE ARE!
