Special Education Department

Clara B.Ford Academy (SDA) has the philosophy of a singular delivery system of all special education programs and services.  The special education staff implements full inclusion teaching and supports by pushing into the general education classrooms, assisting all students with the Michigan Merit Curriculum. Here at Clara B. Ford Academy (SDA), all of our students receive many supports and services, including differentiation, social emotional supports, and Response to Intervention techniques.

  Mrs. Jennings
Special Education Teacher & Coordinator

Mrs. Jennings

Mrs. Jennings has lived in Michigan her entire life.  She grew up on the eastside of Detroit until she was a sophomore in high school.  At that time, her father was transferred to Grand Rapids, way over on the other side of the state!  Mrs. Jennings attended Western Michigan University for her undergraduate studies.  She earned a Bachelor of Science, with a Special Education major,  earning an endorsement in Emotional Impairments.  She then attended Grand Valley State University for her graduate studies, earning 30 credits towards her Master's Degree, while obtaining her Learning Disabilities endorsement.  Mrs. Jennings married in 2012, and moved back to this side of the state and began working at Clara B. Ford Academy. She lives in the area with her husband and her adorable beagle-mixed rescue dog and energetic springer spaniel.  Mrs. Jennings loves and feels the calling to teach, and cannot imagine pursuing any other occupation.
